MODERN BARN HOME

This custom 10,000 sq. ft. home sits on a picturesque 25-acre property in the hills of Northwest Connecticut, overlooking rolling lawns and three connected ponds.
Constructed with a steel frame clad in timber, the home's post-and-beam design is showcased throughout. The exterior features a fieldstone base, reclaimed siding from old tobacco barns, wood windows and doors with black metal cladding, slate and standing seam roofs with cupolas, and generous stone patios and porches.
Interior materials include plaster walls, a mix of reclaimed wood, plaster, and tin ceilings, and varied flooring—wide-plank wood, custom parquet, and stone. High 11-foot ceilings on the main floor and cathedral ceilings in the entry and upstairs rooms create an open, airy feel.
Custom built-ins appear throughout, and the large kitchen serves as a central gathering space. A second-floor multi-use room sits above the garage wing, accessible from the home or via a dramatic spiral stair inside a stone silo.
State-of-the-art lighting, climate control, and sound systems are integrated throughout. The interior design and artwork were curated by the homeowner.
Covered patios and an upstairs porch extend living spaces outdoors, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
